I love this quote about vulnerability from Brené Brown:
It’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot in recent months as I’ve been venturing into a relationship with someone who is wildly open-hearted, brilliantly capable of holding space, and a genuinely safe person to be expressive with.
In short, this person is SO good at vulnerability and connection, it gives me a lot of opportunity to reflect on the moments in which I’M the one holding us back. Whodathunk!!
Truth is, vulnerability is a hard thing to do. And it can feel even harder when we’ve been hurt, let down, abandoned, or disappointed in the past.
The good news?
Vulnerability is also a muscle. And we have a chance to grow that muscle every day! I know I challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone a LOT more lately, and I see that paying off in my connections. (Even if it does mean I cry a whole lot more than I have in years past.)
If vulnerability is something you’re working to grow in your own relationships, maybe this week’s list of check-in questions can help!
